On February 14, the Nordic Center in India (NCI) and University of Helsinki organized a seminar on "Ethnographic Fieldwork in Indian Diasporas" at the Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Art Studies, University of Helsinki, Finland. The speakers included Prof. Hanna Snellman (Ethnology) at University of Helsinki, Dr. Laura Hirvi (Ethnology) from University of Jyväskylä, PhD student Sirpa Rovaniemi (Development Studies) at University of Helsinki, and Dr. Kristina Myrvold (Religious Studies) from Lund University. After the seminar, Dr. Laura Hirvi organized a study visit for the seminar participants to Gurudwara Sarab Sangat Sahib in Helsinki where she has conducted field work for her doctoral dissertation.
